From April 16 to 18, Zhongshan Bureau of Justice, Jiangmen Burea of Justice, Zhongshan Lawyers’ Association and Jiangmen Lawyers' Association jointly held the “2021 Training Session for Foreign-related Legal Talents”. The session was also jointly sponsored by the Law School of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Guangdong Training Hub for Foreign-related Legal Talents. The session was given at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

Guangdong Training Hub for Foreign-related Legal Talents was built for foreign-related legal talents and the functions of the hub are training, project research, foreign cooperation and exchange etc. This is to implement the guidance of developing the Belt and Road Initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and the Shenzhen Socialist Demonstration Area. Such hub can also improve the quality of foreign-related legal services and accelerate development of legal industry in Guangdong.

The training covered customs protection of intellectual property rights, the relations between long-arm jurisdiction, extraterritorial jurisdiction and foreign direct investment, laws and practice of international commercial arbitration and arbitration practice, as well as prevention and control of legal risks regarding Chinese enterprises' overseas mergers and acquisitions, etc.

Dr. LIN Wei, director of P.C.Woo & Zhonglun W.D. LLP gave a presentation on Risk Control of Chinese Overseas Investment, sharing the changes in the market of overseas mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) during the pandemic period with students. He also introduced how to build process and system of overseas M&A, and discussed how to effectively participate in overseas M&A as a Chinese lawyer.

In the afternoon of April 18, the closing ceremony of the session was held. Dr. LIN Wei awarded the Completion Certificate for the students from Zhongshan.
